"It’s been almost four years since I made the move from Research and Evaluation to Programs at First 5 LA. My new role holds me responsible for 
developing partnerships with other funders and, at the time of my transition, I had little to no relationships with my fellow grant makers. Luckily, a colleague invited me to an EPIP happy hour where I found lots of people working in philanthropy and that those at EPIP events were incredibly friendly and smart. Since then I’ve become somewhat of an EPIP groupie -- participating in the LA chapter’s mentorship program, Giving Circle, volunteer and professional development events and my annual trip to EPIP National Conference.

This year’s conference is shaping up to be another not-to-be-missed event with three days full of innovative workshops and plenaries about topics as powerful as diversity, equity and politics. 

I am personally looking forward to growing my network of EPIPers across the country and learning the personal stories that bring them - and you! - to do the important work we are privileged to engage in everyday.
