JFI is seeking a Junior Fellow/Research Assistant to work with Senior Fellow Marshall Steinbaum on original empirical research related to higher education finance, student debt, and labor market power. Applications due by Oct 15.

This role will be a fully remote, part-time position consisting of original empirical research using a variety of large economics-related datasets. The job will be to undertake data analysis directed by and in ongoing consultation with Marshall Steinbaum, including regular email contact and at-least-weekly check-ins. The work would be anticipated to support publication in academic journals, reports, and policy analysis/data visualizations to inform academics, the press, policymakers and their staff, and the public. The position would be ideal for a current PhD student or pre-doc looking for part-time employment. Proficiency with Stata and R is required. Familiarity with SQL is preferred.

The fellowship carries a monthly stipend of $1250.00 for approximately 10-15 hours of work per week.
