An update on EPIP's activities and our executive search from EPIP board chair, Jasmine Hall Ratliff.

What does it mean to weave your work and your passion together? We are excited to share thoughtful reflections from an EPIP Michigan Chapter summer event - emPOWER: Inspiring the Next Generation of Leaders - that asked those questions.

Held at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the event included a keynote and interactive sessions with Shannon Polk. Shannon Polk: lawyer, theologian, advocate, facilitator, and co-founder of EPIP Michigan, posed the question "Does the work you do align with who you are?" - as Mackezie highlights below.

This month has been a very crucial and relatively important one for us here at EPIP. We’re going through a series of exciting changes and updates at our New York Office. This session of Voices from the Field is a special one indeed as we announce the departure of our Membership and Operations Manager Michael Barham. For the past couple of years, Michael has helped maintained the smooth flow of all things EPIP; from its chapter leaders, our members as well as our frequent conferences-Michael’s passion for equal opportunity through a philanthropic lens has added much value to our organization. We are grateful for Michael’s work and continued efforts in helping our organization expand whilst providing a multitude of resources and ideas to philanthropy as we remain committed to the advancement of social justice.

EPIP is proud to announce our newest member of staff in our New York office. Biz Ghormley will serve as our Membership and Operations Associate. Biz is joining us with extensive experience in philanthropy. Her new role will play a major part in EPIP’s operations and program development. She will also support member relationship maintenance. We’re thrilled to have her join the team and what she has to offer. We hope you’ll join us in welcoming Biz to our team. We sat down with her earlier this week to chat about her exciting new chapter with us.

In the past few months, I have heard many practitioners in the social sector discussing how continuous learning is integral for successful collective impact (CI) efforts. Although its importance is understood, practitioners say they are struggling with how to implement continuous learning processes effectively.

EPIP's inaugural Inclusive Leadership Cohort was launched in partnership with Inclusion Ventures in 2015. The program provides a unique opportunity for EPIP chapter leaders to explore issues of race, social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion with an intimate group of their peers.
