Voqal is currently looking for a Remote Program Officer to join our dynamic, growing team. This position reports to  the Director of Grantmaking and Fellowship Programs.

Responsibilities:

The Program Officer will advance social justice by developing, managing, and leading equity-centered grantmaking initiatives that strengthen and protect five pillars of democracy: a representative government, fundamental rights, information and communication, fair processes, and civic engagement.

Duties may include researching and recommending impactful grantmaking opportunities; creating strong, deep, and trusting relationships with grantees, potential grantees, and peer funders; and deepening the alignment and practice of equitable grantmaking both internally and externally.

Approximately half of the work will be in service to the people-led movements in Chicago. We strongly encourage applicants from the Chicagoland area or applicants who are available to travel to Chicago often, when travel is a safe option.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is $83K. Voqal also offers a very generous benefits package including: partially paid medical coverage for employees and dependents, partially paid dental and vision, paid LTD, STD, and AD&D. Paid vacation, sick, holidays, and personal time. Retirement program including profit sharing and 401K plans and match.
