The Madison Square Boys & Girls Club would like to partner with EPIP NY to bring programs to their teens. Madison Square Boys & Girls Club provides after-school and summer youth development programming to young people ages 6 to 18 in under-resourced neighborhoods of New York City.

For the third year in a row, the EPIP NY community dedicated the holiday party to giving back to the community. This year's gift recipient was The Bowery Mission. All party attendees were required to bring items that could be donated to the homeless community in New York City.

EPIP-NY: Leading Authentically as a Woman in Philanthropy

Over 40 women (and one man) gathered at the Wallace Foundation bright and early to hear inspirational words and useful tips on how to navigate philanthropy as a woman. Liz Alsina, program associate at The Mellon Foundation, Jaclyn Le, program & research analyst at Wallace Foundation, Carolina Velasquez, Administrative Assistant at Wallace Foundation, and Kristina Whyte, Senior Accountant at Wallace Foundation, organized the highly attended event, the second one of its kind hosted by the EPIP New York Chapter. Learn more about the event and lessons from it here.

Although most of this booming investment is in private ventures, mission-driven crowdfunding platforms are also emerging on the leading edge of technology, philanthropy, and social entrepreneurship.

With generous support from the Surdna Foundation, our EPIP-NY chapter partnered with Housing Works Bookstore Cafe to host a fascinating panel discussion on crowdfunding for social change.  The distinguished panel explored a number of issues in the emerging field and left attendees with a deeper understanding of crowdfunding’s current impact, and its potential for the future.
