We are looking for a senior professional with significant experience working in philanthropy or / providing professional services to foundations. This role works across our Client Success, Outreach, and Product teams to ensure that the solutions we build meet the needs of our market, and are effectively delivered to our clients. You will represent our organization to prospects and clients with empathy, issue-area knowledge, and sector expertise. You will collaborate with colleagues across our organization to influence strategy with insights from hands-on experience in the field.

Job Responsibilities:


Specific responsibilities for this job span three areas (the distribution of the role across these responsibilities will vary; rough estimates are listed below):

 (1)  Strategic Advising & Project Management (80%)

  • Act as a trusted advisor and UpMetrics’ primary relationship contact on a small number of high profile, strategic accounts
  • Develop and maintain strategic account plans - spanning the full client life cycle - that balance the success criteria of all stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure that the UpMetrics platform is successfully implemented and strategically embedded in key decision making processes
  • Facilitate client meetings and working sessions, ensuring a high-quality client experience
  • Maintain executive level relationships with client decision-makers
  • Own revenue retention and strategic growth targets


(2)  Relationship Building & Business Development (10%)

  • Rely on a deep understanding of UpMetrics’ products and services to confidently represent our solution to foundations and philanthropists
  • Contribute to proposals and presentations to secure new business and expand existing relationships
  • Generate new leads through ongoing relationship building with strategic leaders across the social sector 
  • Provide strategic input into our sales and marketing strategy, and contribute to the production of case studies and other collateral


(3)  National (International) Issue-Area Thought Leadership (10%)

  • Contribute to webinars, presentations, case studies and other materials that speak to the value of using data across philanthropy 
  • Design and run sessions - for specific clients, groups of clients, and prospects - that enable foundations staff and other funders to better understand how to articulate and measure their goals
  • Build community across UpMetrics clients and act as a “connector” in the market
  • ​Serve as the “voice of the client” internally to help design and develop our product roadmap and strategy


​About You:

  • At least 15 years experience working within the philanthropic sector 
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; you “speak the language” of data, impact, and measurement and evaluation
  • Previous experience working in a technology company (ideally in “tech-for-good”) and / or experience implementing technology systems in a philanthropic environment
  • Excellent public speaker, with significant experience in client-facing, donor-facing and / or training roles
  • Experience as a team leader
  • Demonstrated ability to set strategic objectives and manage successful follow through
