The Manager, Development Systems and Research (Manager) plays an important role in helping the Development department cultivate and grow a strong and diverse network of champions committed to advancing an economically just region. At the core of this role is a crucial focus on ensuring the Development department has the background information, context, strategy, and data and systems necessary to support fundraising efforts and improve donor engagement through an effective moves management process. This role also serves as the lead researcher for the Development department, working closely with department leaders and frontline staff to ensure they are informed and prepared for their external relations efforts.
Under the guidance of the Director, Development Systems, the Manager will support departmental technological and data literacy by helping to document and maintain resources for staff. They will also assist in project execution related to reporting, data analysis, data integrity, and the planned transition to a new CRM.

Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience considered.
A minimum of 2-4 years of experience non-profit experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Internet usage and software applications.
Experience with Microsoft Power BI and/or Python preferred.
Experience in database applications required.
Must be comfortable working in ambiguity and be a systems and design thinker.
Demonstrates solid organizational and project management skills.
Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, with an empathy for user experience.
Strong listening and communication skills - written, interpersonal, especially the ability to translate data into narrative.
Strong attention to detail and proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
Familiarity with research platforms and techniques.
Ability to understand the work of our team and organization, constituent motivations and barriers, and make connections to align needs with opportunities.
Proven ability to collaborate and be successful working with cross-functional teams, and to be self-driven in independent work.

Reliable access to Internet and flexibility with hybrid work, with at least 1 days in the office at one of United Way's offices: Boston, Beverly, or Attleboro.
