ABOUT THE POSITION
Environment Texas is seeking a Global Warming Solutions Advocate to work to stop the pollution in Texas fueling the climate crisis.
As America’s number one polluter (and the world’s 8th largest, just behind South Korea), Texas is ground zero in the fight to stop burning fossil fuels. Texas has to be central to efforts to decarbonize. As our Global Warming Advocate, you’ll work with Executive Director Luke Metzger to reduce global warming pollution in Texas. Our top priorities are to:
ban flaring of methane gas from oil wells
close down polluting, coal-burning power plants
hold refineries and chemical plants accountable for violations of clean air laws
move Texas off of fossil fuels
