Community Investments & Engagement Section Manager (KCPRD)

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Community Investments and Engagement Section Manager will serve on the Parks Management team and provide key input in Division wide priorities and decisions. The position will oversee the Investments unit that is responsible for managing 4 new grant programs funded by the voter-approved 2020-25 Parks, Trails and Open Space levy, the Youth & Amateur Sports grants program and the Community Partnership Grants program.  These grant programs seek to improve access and increase parks, recreation, open space. This position will also manage the engagement unit that works cross-functionally across the division to encourage comprehensive public involvement and use, promote the benefits of King County’s parks and trails, nurture goodwill, and provide communications and customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

 

This position is critical in the division's ability to successfully lead with equity. The person in this position will impact how equity is incorporated into agency decision-making, as well as directly shape opportunities for community members to participate and engage with King County.

 

COMPENSATION

$112,736.00 - $142,896.00

The work associated with this position will be performed predominantly by telecommuting, with occasional onsite work and meetings, as influenced by business needs. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities.

 

Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

 

Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the Public Health Directive from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer.
