Equity Programs Manager (TFN)

The Funders Network (TFN) engages a network of more than 160 member foundations across the United States and Canada. Known in the field as a philanthropy serving organization (PSO), TFN works in support of efforts to create communities that are sustainable, prosperous, resilient — and above all — equitable and inclusive.  With a mission to leverage philanthropy’s unique potential to help create communities and regions that are sustainable, prosperous and just for all people, we seek to inspire, strengthen and expand the funding, leadership and learning that deepens connections, ignites action and improves outcomes. Racial equity is centered at the heart of TFN’s mission as we work for urgent and sustained action that builds power, addresses environmental, economic and racial injustice, and creates communities and regions where all people thrive.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The newly created position of Equity Programs Manager will be responsible for working with TFN’s Director of Equitable Initiatives and Leadership Development to advance internal and external efforts to make racial equity cross-cutting and foundational at TFN, amplifying our work and supporting a growing learning community. The position will work alongside the Director to coordinate and implement TFN’s Racial Equity Action Plan, support the annual PLACES Fellowship (a philanthropic leadership development program focused on issues of race, equity and grantmaking practice), and the PLACES Alumni Network.

The Equity Programs Manager will be asked to enhance virtual and in-person engagement efforts, in alignment with TFN’s strategic priorities and organizational values. The position will play a role in fostering a vibrant race equity learning culture across TFN programming and be responsible for event support or coordination, pre/post-event logistics, and developing equity related communications that support equity programming and storytelling as a liaison to the communications team.

The Equity Programs Manager should enjoy working in a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, high-performing, and results-oriented. The position will interact with all levels of staff, board members, member organizations, and others in a fast-paced environment with respect, flexibility, initiative, resourcefulness, and efficiency.
