Nageeb Sumar
Nageeb currently serves as the Deputy Director for Philanthropic Partnerships at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He previously served as a Senior Program Officer on the Global Policy & Advocacy team where he had responsibilities over the Foundation’s engagement with governments in North America and the Asia-Pacific. Prior to the foundation, Nageeb worked as an associate at law firms in DC focusing on municipal finance and corporate transactions, and preceding law school, worked at Oxfam America on microfinance and market access issues. Nageeb holds law degrees from McGill Law School, a master’s degree in international finance from Queen’s University School of Business, and bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Urban & Regional Planning from Cornell University. Nageeb grew up in Calgary, Canada, and currently lives in Washington, DC with his wife Fatema, and three daughters, Zahra, Safya and Insiya.
Sapphira Goradia
Sapphira Goradia is the Executive Director of the Vijay and Marie Goradia Foundation. As Executive Director, Sapphira leads the Foundation’s efforts to improve health and educational outcomes in India by supporting innovative, measurable and scalable intiatives. Prior to assuming her role in the Goradia Foundation, Sapphira worked for a number of NGOs focused on prevention and treatment of both acute and chronic diseases. She holds a BA from Pomona College and a Masters of Public Health from The George Washington University. Sapphira is an Advisory Board member of Pratham USA’s Houston chapter, and a board member of the international NGO SightLife.
