Green Women, Healthy Voices - Community Event

"The bottom line is that people just can't afford good food. So we don't buy the good food, we buy the cheapest food we know - the bad food - because it's cheap and affordable." - Violet Lavatai, Skyway resident & single parent

Join the Women in the Green Economy Project for the release of their report from their Southeast Seattle survey of low-income women and women of color about their needs and priorities for the green economy.

The issue of economic access to healthy foods has emerged as a top priority and as such, they have formed a grassroots "Food Access" committee to work on the issue.
