Full-Time Temporary Program Analyst (CCF)

CCF is hiring a full-time, temporary program analyst as part of the Census team.  Reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives, this position is responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of reporting for the foundation’s Census initiative. This is a temporary position beginning in May 2019 and through November 2020.

Core Duties

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Program Analyses & Reporting: Working with evaluators, this role is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of reporting. Activities include researching, analyzing, interpreting and reporting outcomes of goals, tactics and events for the foundation’s census initiative. Helps track budgetary resources and expenditures for grants awarded and received (i.e. State, County, City and philanthropic grants).
  • Coalition Management: Supporting oversight for the Los Angeles Regional Census Table coalition activities and associated projects.
  • Community Relations: Works with philanthropic, business, community and government stakeholders to advance CCF’s census strategies.  Represents and provides information about the 2020 census and CCF at community events and meetings with foundation partners, constituencies, and key stakeholder groups.
  • Communications: Drafts internal materials such as briefing memos and external materials such as reports to funders and partners. Prepares and delivers presentations both internally and externally.
  • Convenings Coordinator:  Provides planning and logistical support on meetings and key events, such as securing venues, arranging for catering, handling onsite needs, and post event follow-up (audiovisual, production, dissemination of meeting materials, recording minutes, and post-event follow-up activities).

  • Experience: Minimum of four years’ experience with public interest advocacy, nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, campaigns, research or public affairs required. Experience writing (i.e. grant proposals and outcomes reporting), creating presentations (i.e. graphic design), and/or previous work in evaluation preferred.
  • Education: Bachelors’ degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Public Relations, Communications, English/Literature, Evaluation or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with various levels of staff and contractors.
  • Technology Skills: Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator). Knowledge of Blackbaud software a plus. Willingness and ability to learn appropriate database and other computer programs.
  • Project Management Skills: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize work effectively and adjust to multiple demands within set deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Must be an efficient, well organized, detail-oriented, energetic, flexible, problem-solver who can handle multiple requests and tasks. Must have ability to and experience in developing and adhering to budgets and timelines.
  • Team Work & General Skills: Demonstrated resourcefulness, optimism and flexibility in approach to project assignments. Ability to work well independently and as team member. Ability to take initiative and follow tasks through completion. Ability to work with a team to achieve CCF's goals, leveraging each team member's skill set.

Working Conditions

  • Requires the ability to sit and work at a desk for several hours at a time.
  • Requires the ability to travel and attend meetings, presentations and events outside the office, which may require occasional use of a motor vehicle for transportation to other locations. Due to the nature of external appointments and/or responsibilities requiring travel to locations not easily accessible by public transportation, driving is an essential job responsibility for this position.
  • This position is required to be available to speak with stakeholders and/or others while away from the office and/or with others located in other time zones outside Foundation business hours.
  • Work may require weekends and/or extended work day.
  • Punctuality and satisfactory attendance are essential functions of the job.

Compensation

This is a temporary, full-time, non-exempt position.  Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. A generous benefit package is provided to all full-time staff, including medical, dental, vision and parking or transportation.
