Summary:

The Finance and Administration Manager is a hands-on position, responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial management, reporting, and forecasting, as well as its national operations. The Finance Manager will play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and operations as World Savvy continues to enhance its quality programming and build capacity. This is a tremendous opportunity for a finance and operations professional to maximize and strengthen the internal capacity of a well-respected, high-impact organization.

Responsibilities Include:

Financial Management

  •   Complete the monthly close process and produce necessary financial reports.

  •   Present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and

    annual financial statements; collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments, and

    oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting.

  •   Implement a robust financial management/reporting system; ensure that the contract billing

    and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and

    support operational requirements.

  •   Manage organizational financial forecasting.

  •   Work with part-time bookkeeper to complete all organizational bookkeeping (AP and AR),

    payroll, and financial record keeping, both via QuickBooks and physical files.

  •   Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the Leadership Team.

  •   Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the Finance

    Committee of the Board of Directors; assess any changes necessary.

  •   Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure processes

Operations Management:

  • Lead World Savvy’s human resources function, including: recruiting, compensation and benefits, professional development, performance evaluation.
  •   Oversee IT systems, including hardware and software, to ensure strong functionality to optimize staff efficiency and effectiveness.

  •   Oversee operational efficiency, including administrative functions and facilities to ensure efficient and consistent operations as the organization scales.

  •   Manage full-time operations associate, who supports all operations, and IT vendor.

    Qualified Candidates Must Have:

  •   A bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field.

  •   At least 3 years’ professional experience in nonprofit accounting and/or finance; knowledge of

    nonprofit generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  •   Operations management and supervisory experience.

  •   High-level attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and deadline orientation.

  •   Ability to translate financial concepts to – and to effectively collaborate with – programmatic and

    fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds.

  •   Deep knowledge of QuickBooks software.

  •   General understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft Office applications, Google Apps and cloud-based computing.

  •   Direct experience using and/or overseeing implementation of Salesforce.com.

  •   Demonstrated ability to build trusting and productive relationships with coworkers, customers and vendors.
