EPIP 2024: Reconnect, Revive & Rise

Preparing for EPIP 2024

EPIP 2024 tickets are going quickly, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you in New Orleans! After several years of being apart physically, we eagerly anticipate reuniting with our community of enthusiastic, imaginative, and courageous emerging leaders spanning the philanthropic sector.

Our program team just returned home from New Orleans to pull some of the final pieces of our conference together, and we are thrilled about the way the program is shaping up. As Black History Month comes to a close, we’re proud of what it means to be a pro-Black organization, bringing our community together in New Orleans, and continuing to uplift and support the leadership of all Black, Indigenous, and People of Color so that we can build a more just world.

So what can you expect at Reconnect, Revive & Rise? We’ll provide a dynamic, unique, and relevant program to prepare you to be more effective in making change. You’ll have time and space to meet your people, because we know that our sector is stronger when you have deep connections with like-minded peers who can coach, support, and champion you when pushing for a more just world. You can expect an opportunity to pour back into yourself through dedicated healing spaces and a spacious program that allows you time to explore New Orleans and connect with many Black artists and culture bearers who make the city so special. Finally, you can expect powerful plenaries and breakout sessions that will help you feel more prepared to advocate for justice and racial equity when you return to your office.

Meet the EPIP 2024 Conference Planning Committee

EPIP 2024 wouldn’t be possible without our volunteer planning committee members, who come from all across the philanthropic ecosystem and in many different roles. Get to know the committee members here, and learn what they’re excited about at EPIP 2024!

Organizing Resources for the Frontlines

Have you recently started working in philanthropy and want to use your positional power to advocate for the powerful frontline organizations that need support? EPIP and the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy invite you to an interactive, virtual workshop on March 21 at 1 p.m. EST, designed to equip participants with skills to move power and resources to social movement work, regardless of your role. Whether you already have an organizing background or want to learn some tools to bring an organizer’s mindset to philanthropy, this workshop will allow participants the opportunity to learn and engage around different frameworks within philanthropy, so you feel empowered to bring a needed lens to your work.

Communities of Practice

EPIP’s Communities of Practice give emerging professionals a space to grow, learn, and connect with their peers. Available Communities of Practice are:

  • The People of Color Network: The People of Color Network (PCN) is a professional development and peer support network for EPIP members who identify as people of color. The PCN is designed to address the intersections of challenges and opportunities that are unique to emerging people of color in the sector. The spaces we provide, whether in person or virtual, are places where we hope you can show up in your wholeness to connect, vent, share strategies with peers, and learn key skills.
  • The Emerging Women of Color Community of Practice: The Emerging Women of Color (EWOC) community of practice was launched in 2022, focused on leadership development and network weaving for early- and mid-career women of color in philanthropy. Created in response to member requests, this community provides leadership development through the lens of race and gender. It also works to connect early-career women of color with a network of peers so that it takes less effort to ‘find your people’ in the field.
  • White Affinity Community of Practice: EPIP launched this space in 2021 to provide a rigorous and supportive environment for members who identify as white to deepen their knowledge of antiracism and develop skills and strategies to advance racial equity and inclusive leadership practices in philanthropy, unpack and process the harmful effects of white privilege and white supremacy culture including how both show up within individuals and institutions, and discuss shared challenges and experiences. We just kicked off the Winter cohort of the community of practice.

Contact [email protected] with any questions or to express interest in getting involved as a facilitator for future sessions.
