EPIP CO | Let's Talk About Class: Understanding Class Cultures to Dismantle Organizational Classism

EPIP Colorado is excited to partner with Chinook Fund for this virtual workshop to deepen our learning and skills to advance inclusion and social justice in our professional and personal lives. Class backgrounds and class cultures can strongly shape our worldview and ability to build relationships or collaborate with others across class lines. We see this in power dynamics between a wealthy board member and the nonprofit they support, how middle-class nonprofit professionals reach out to poor and low-income communities, and how we tend to imagine fundraising for our work. By honestly addressing and working to dismantle classism within our organizations, we can better serve our communities and foster trust within diverse coalitions organizing for change.

This workshop will introduce participants to frameworks for naming, identifying, and disrupting classist practices within their organizations, and provide resources and community-building tips to use with staff, board, clients, and partners. The session will be co-led by Juliette Lee, Program Director at Chinook Fund, and EPIP Colorado Steering Committee member Erik Ortiz (who is also Co-chair of the Chinook Fund Board of Directors).

Space is limited and registration has closed.

Thank you to the Colorado Health Foundation for sponsoring this training!
