Community giving takes many shapes. There are a few hyper-local methods of collective giving and grantmaking including affinity groups, giving circles, and giving book clubs. Learn about these structures’ benefits including true community voice, flexibility, and less hierarchy. While these community methods of giving and granting have existed for many years, particularly in communities of color, they are only recently being formalized and recognized/incorporated by foundations and funders. Join this session to learn more about community giving models and how funders can align their resources with these efforts. We'll hear from representatives from LatinasGive!, Left Behind Workers Fund, and The Denver Foundation's Strengthening Neighborhoods.
