EPIP's Statement on the Charleston Shootings

Those of us at EPIP HQ are deeply saddened and disturbed by the recent shootings of nine Black people at a prayer meeting in a historic Charleston, SC church earlier this week. In what appears to be a hate crime, the shooter intentionally targeted these individuals because of their race. We cannot and will not tolerate such violence and hatred, and stand in solidarity with all those working towards justice.

EPIP is a strong and vibrant network of like-minded individuals who envision a more just, equitable and sustainable world. We must come together under the umbrella of equity and continue working to end systemic racism.

If you know of any rallies, events, vigils, or prayer groups forming in your communities, contact us and we will post it on the EPIP blog. We will continue to share resources with you as they become available.

Today, 6/19 at 8pm ET/5pm PT, Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) is hosting a conference call - White people take action for Charleston. Register at: http://myaccount.maestroconference.com/conference/register/80Y9U3OJ1UN28CK

We are stronger and more powerful if we act together. #BlackLivesMatter
