Join us for the final workshop in our Self-Care Series, an evening of meditation & mindfulness lead by Janna Bilski. We will explore how these practices can help us in our daily lives to support and sustain our overall wellbeing from a self-care perspective while also helping us to be greater agents of social change. You will learn the basics of meditation & mindfulness, and how we can use these methods as a tool to deal with the challenges, we face both in our daily lives and in the world. Research on these practices is growing to show a host of benefits. Come and learn about this emerging and exciting area of focus within the area of social change.

Janna Bilski
Janna Bilski works on the Investments team at the Ford Foundation, an international philanthropy focused on advancing social justice and reducing inequality. Janna started a mindfulness and meditation program at the Ford Foundation in 2016, where she currently teaches a weekly class. She also leads classes at Kadampa Meditation Center in New York City. Janna is passionate about the practice of mindfulness and meditation and sees these practices as an integral component of long-term social change. She is a strong advocate for advancing mindfulness ins schools to help youth learn "inner" tools to navigate the challenges they face and to thrive. Janna is currently completing the Training in Mindfulness Facilitation course at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA. Janna received a B.A. from New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study and completed post-graduate studies at Regent's College School of Psychotherapy and Counseling in London, England.
The session will be suitable for all levels. No special clothing is required. The session will be one hour, with additional time allotted for questions.
