Start your morning with the EPIP NY Chapter for a morning of yoga, as we focus on how to manage our stress during these times. Come prepared with a mat (shirts or soft sheets can substitute), some water to drink, and weights. We welcome creativity, so feel free to use filled 16.9oz bottle of water, filled cans, a gallon of milk, etc. instead of weights. We want you to have fun with us.
RSVP for the Zoom information.
ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTOR:
Born in Harlem, and raised in the US Virgin Islands, Foluke extensively studied the art of dance at top schools including the Dance Theatre of Harlem, Harlem School of the Arts, and Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, where she received training in tap, ballet, jazz, Afro-jazz, and traditional African dance. Foluke went on to obtain her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance at the University of Maryland at College Park and spent several years as a professional dancer and performer with Wright Now Dance Company.
Currently, Foluke Arthurton is an Independent Health and Fitness consultant with 1199 SEIU, where she creates customized health and fitness presentations for 1199 union members. Pilates, Barre Conditioning, Strength and Endurance training are a few of the fitness modalities she teaches to up to one hundred clients on a daily basis. She attributes the way she connects with her target audience to her dance, theatre, and stand-up comedian background. Foluke actively uses humor and comic relief as a way to soothe the mind and soul. Her Christian faith is no secret to her success as she attributes finding her path through the meanders of life through prayer and seeking the face of God. She believes although fitness is a necessary part of the health and wellness paradigm, healthy living goes beyond the gym walls.
