For the 2019 End of Year Celebration, we have partnered with the New York Chapter of Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP). We will be creating essential school gift bags for our friends and neighbors in Sunset Park. 

Voces Ciudadanas will be the recipient of this year's gifts. We will assemble bags of books and school supplies (for ages 1-11).  

Voces Ciudadanas is a volunteer-run organization led by Latinx and Chinese parents in Sunset Park. Founded in 2014, parents, mostly recent immigrants, came together to fight school overcrowding. After conducting research and galvanizing parents to the Department of Education to testify, they won a commitment from the city to construct five new public schools in their neighborhood. They continue to engage more and more parents in the neighborhood by providing leadership development support throughout the year. 

Please bring an item or two or three from the list below for the party. We will supply storybooks, wine, and food! We ask that members contribute the items. 

A contribution is necessary for entry into the party. To ensure that we have adequate supplies, please let us know what you might be able to bring. The goal is to be able to fill at least 30 bags.
