There are over 280,000 Asian Pacific Islander Americans in Minnesota. However, Asian Pacific Islander Americans are one of the most underrepresented groups in film, TV, and entertainment. According to the University of Southern California’s 2018 Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, APIAs only made up 3.2% of filmmakers from 2007-2017. Out of 1,110 films, only 36 of them were APIA men while only 3 were APIA women. There have been no APIA Minnesotan narratives in mainstream media. Nice is one of the first Asian American half-hour television series in representing 90% in both cast and crew of its production. By bringing Nice back to Minnesota, where the production took place, we are conscious of our audience, whom are Mid-West Americans and Asian Americans, by making the screening event free and the accessibility in location, which will take place at the Neighborhood House in West Saint Paul. The special screening of Nice, that will take place on Friday, June 29th, 2018 from 7pm to 9pm.
