California voters will be confronted once again with a daunting ballot this November with eleven statewide ballot measure spanning proposals to address the lack of affordable housing in California to daylight saving time (yes, really!). But there’s more! LA County voters will wrestle with a parcel tax on water quality and numerous cities and special districts across the region will have other down ballot measures, including setting up a bank operated by the City of Los Angeles and requiring panic buttons for hotel workers in the City of Long Beach (among many more!). |
Over dinner, we’ll discuss the measures you care about most with SCG’s Director of Public Policy & Government Relations, Seyron Foo. You’ll leave the event with a ballot cheat sheet that you can bring with you to the polls on Election Day. |
Seyron Foo develops, organizes, and implements efforts to create a well-connected network of grantmakers and public officials in order to strengthen communities and advance the public policy goals of SCG’s member organizations and Philanthropy California. In this capacity, he provides public policy analysis to issues affecting the sector and key policy areas relevant to grantmakers. Additionally, he is responsible for educating and informing government officials about philanthropic efforts, and identifies opportunities to convene grantmakers and government to tackle the most pressing public policy issues facing our communities. |
