EPIP LA | 2026 Mentorship Program – Applications open now!

Calling all potential mentees! EPIP Los Angeles is making it easier for you to enhance your professional development under the guidance of skilled mentors from the philanthropic field. Now in its thirteenth year, EPIP LA’s Mentorship Program has helped 100+ early to mid-career EPIP members find great mentors, and you could be next!

The EPIP LA Mentorship Program aims to provide participants with the tools needed to seek out and maintain meaningful connections with experienced leaders in the social sector. Participants also build peer-to-peer relationships with one another in a cohort of 3-4 people. The program focuses on deepening both types of interactions to enhance professional and personal competence while also opening up new areas of interest for participants.

Through an application and interview process, 8-10 individuals will be selected to join the 2026 cohort. If you are a paid member of EPIP and are interested in exploring your career interests and building stronger relationships in the field, APPLY TO JOIN THE MENTORSHIP PROGRAM HERE!

Applications are due Friday, June 26th, 2026 at 5 pm PST.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the time commitment required to participate?
Approximately three to four hours per month, through the end of the calendar year.

Do I need to have already identified a potential mentor to apply?
No. The program will walk you through the matching process.

How many mentees will be accepted?
Five to eight individuals will be accepted.

How does the matching process work?
During the interview process, applicants are asked to identify key knowledge and experience they would seek in a mentor. After being selected to be a part of the Mentorship Program, the Mentorship Program Chair, and Steering Committee will work one-on-one with the mentee to curate and prioritize a list of potential mentors.

Will I have to personally contact someone to be my mentor?
No. The Mentorship Program Chair will contact a potential mentor on your behalf to explain the program and establish expectations prior to the mentor committing to the program.

How much does it cost to participate?
Meetings with your cohort will be sponsored by EPIP LA. Individual meetings with your mentor may be hosted by your mentor, or you may choose to host.

Where will the meetings be held?
Meetings can be held in person or virtually, depending on the preferences of the cohorts and mentor pairings. If possible, EPIP encourages holding at least one meeting in person for each cohort and each mentor/mentee pair.

What have program alumni have said about the program?
“EPIP found me a mentor far beyond what I thought was possible! My mentor helped me to not only develop and identify my professional strengths but also facilitated introductions to those outside of my peer group to help me better understand the wider philanthropic landscape.”

“Both my mentor and my cohort advised and supported me through some major professional transitions, including a new job and a new position. I'm so grateful to have built this network, and I'm confident I will remain close with my cohort and my mentor for years to come.”
