EPIP DC| Virtual Summer Social
Join fellow emerging practitioners in philanthropy DC members on Tuesday, July 21 from 6:30-7:30 pm for our annual summer social! This virtual social will feature a cocktail-making session (including a mocktail option) with local DC and Black bartender, Davino Richardson! The event also will feature two rounds of small group networking for you to meet and connect with your peers in the sector.
We are excited to have DC bartender Davino Richardson joining us! Davino started his restaurant career in DC as the bar manager at Busboys and Poets on 14th Street. During that time, Davino moonlighted as a bartender at BIN 1301 on U street which was and still is Black-owned and operated. Currently, Davino works at Bammy's which is an authentic Caribbean restaurant on the SW Waterfront that currently offers takeout during the pandemic. Davino has prepared two special unique drink recipes for us inspired by Kobe Bryant and Rhianna dedicated to their community philanthropy.
We encourage you to support a DMV locally-owned Black business by ordering take-out for the night of the event! Here is a list of restaurant and catering options created by EPIP DC (and please share with your organization for when we return to work in the future! EPIP DC has a commitment to supporting BIPOC-owned businesses through our events).
Below are the ingredients for you to follow along during the cocktail-making session:
The Black Mamba
2 ounces vodka
1 ounce blue curaçao
1/2 ounce black raspberry liqueur
Garnish: lemon twist
1.5-ounce orange juice
1.5-ounce pineapple juice
1.5-ounce fresh-squeezed lime juice
2-3 ounces coconut cream

We also hope you will get in the summer spirit with us by joining with a summer-themed virtual background and sharing your favorite song of the summer for us to create a group Spotify playlist by emailing email@example.com before the event!
