In honor of Black Philanthropy Month, join EPIP DC and Service Never Sleeps for an intimate discussion about Breathing Out: Ruminations of a Millennial Black Woman, with author Whitney Parnell. This raw and groundbreaking anti-racism declaration weaves in Parnell's narratives from years of activism, running a Black-led organization, and daily encounters in the world as a Black woman.
Parnell's work addresses the current cultural climate and shares her theories for actively pursuing racial justice. We are also excited to be joined by Service Never Sleeps, a DC-based nonprofit, whose work empowers justice-minded individuals with the tools and posture to be effective allies, and to create equity within their spheres of influence.
All attendees will receive a complimentary copy of Breathing Out. We will share pickup windows at GEO's offices, and the book will be available the day of the event.
Light bites will be provided.
Transportation: The closest WMATA train station is McPherson Square. There are also two garages nearby.
