Please join the Colorado Chapter of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy as we bring together two of Colorado’s philanthropic leaders to hear about their journey into philanthropy and their path to leadership. Are you curious to know more about leadership within philanthropy?  Do you wonder how equity and social justice play a role, or not, in advancing philanthropic efforts in our state?  Lauren Casteel (CEO, Women’s Foundation of Colorado) and Tom Gougeon (President, Gates Family Foundation) will give us the inside scoop on how they got where they are today – the good, the bad, the ugly of philanthropy in Colorado.   

Lauren Casteel has been the CEO of the Women’s Foundation of Colorado since 2015.  Prior to the Women’s Foundation, Lauren served at the Denver Foundation for 16 years, most recently as the Vice President of Philanthropic Partnerships.  Lauren also served as the Executive Director of The Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation and previously spent six years at The Hunt Alternatives Fund as the Executive Director, then as President.

Tom Gougeon has been the President of the Gates Family Foundation since 2010.  Before Gates, Tom spent time with Continuum Partners, LLC where he was the Chief Development Officer and advanced their mission to develop and operate mixed use and transit oriented real estate projects.  Tom was also the CEO of the Stapleton Redevelopment Foundation and served in the Mayor’s Office in the City and County of Denver.

Free parking is available in The Colorado Health Foundation's lot directly south of the building, and there is free street parking surrounding the building.
