You're invited to EPIP-Colorado's March Coffee Chat! RSVP as space is limited. We'll be at Fluid Coffee Bar from 8:30am-10am to chat about the recently-released learning paper, "Centering Race in Health Equity Advocacy: Lessons Learned", available in both English and Spanish.
This report details the specific strategies and efforts of 18 urban and rural direct service, community organizing, and policy advocacy non-profits across Colorado to build their individual, organizational, and community racial equity capacity. The report discusses how the grantees decided to center race in their work; describes the framework and strategies used by the cohort of organizations; and presents results on the progress that has been made (and there has been progress!).
It also includes recommendations for others who may be interested in centering race in social change efforts. We feel the learnings can be broadly applied, and hope you find parallels to your own personal and organizational journey.
Questions to consider for our chat include: Where do your experiences fall related to the work detailed in the report? What can we do to support each other in implementing strategies to center race? What do they mean for your work? Does your institution support non-profits to do this work? What does that look like for you? How might they?
Arrive between 8:30am-9:00am, grab a snack and/or a drink, and get to know some new folks (or catch up with old friends). We’ll start our discussion at 9:00am, and finish at 10:00am. Free street parking is available, and you can also park for free at The Colorado Health Foundation, 1780 Pennsylvania St, a block south of Fluid Coffee Bar.
