Apply for Year Two of the EPIP LA Mentorship Program

Last year, EPIP’s LA Chapter launched a mentorship program to help our members establish long-term, meaningful relationships, both with a mentor and with other emerging professionals in the field. If you’re a member of EPIP LA, and are interested in gaining professional development skills and exploring your career interests, apply to participate in year two of the EPIP LA Mentorship Program.

The EPIP LA Mentorship Program aims to enhance professional and personal competence while opening up new areas of interest for participants. The program will be lightly guided by the EPIP LA Steering Committee, which will help match participants with their mentors. However, participants will be responsible for meeting with their mentor, as well as the rest of the cohort, a few times throughout the year.

The unique formula of this model will provide each participant with the tools needed to seek out, maintain, and develop profound relationships with peers within the field as well as deeper ties with their mentors.

Please note that this program requires a one-year commitment.

The application deadline is September 29, 2014.

FAQ Who is eligible to apply for the program? EPIP members. Not a member? Click here to join EPIP!

How do I apply? The application is available online. Click here for application.

What is required of participants of the program? A time commitment of one year is mandatory.

Each participant will be highly encouraged to meet with his/her mentor at least four times over the course of the one-year program.

The entire cohort will be highly encouraged to meet as a group at least four times over the course of the one-year program.

Details of these meetings will be discussed further during the orientation. Orientation date will be set once the review committee selects the finalists.

What is the weekly time commitment? It’s estimated at around 1-3 hours a week. However, this is a rough estimate and will vary depending on how often you meet with your mentor and cohort.

How are mentors and mentees matched? This program emphasizes customizing the mentorship program around what each individual needs. This means that the matching process is done in partnership with the EPIP network and lightly guided by the Steering Committee. There will be a list of potential mentors who have expressed interest in being a part of the program; however, the participants are not restricted to this list. It is very openended and the EPIP network will do its best to help you find the mentor that best fits your needs.
