POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Vice President, Grant Management and Compliance, the Director of Grants will have a wide range of responsibilities. Those responsibilities include financial administration, post-award compliance and management of a multi-million-dollar portfolio consisting of federal and private awards. This is a rewarding opportunity for a mid-career Grant Professional who enjoys the multi-faceted direction of grants all while supporting the mission of United Way.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Anticipate and resolve difficult and sensitive inquiries in a timely manner.
Provide leadership with all financial inquiries that include budget development, payroll, purchasing, contracting, and reporting.
Manage open receivables for the proper tracking of pledges.
Assist Project Directors and staff in grant implementation and management, including instruction of internal processes, as necessary.
Prepare and collect all supporting documentation regarding financial deliverables for sponsored awards.
Must be able to gather and analyze data and situations and make appropriate decisions.
Submit timely processing of indirect payments as required.
Review and reconcile time and effort documentation for all grant funded positions.
Maintain official records and documents in the grant database - Grant Navigator.
Ensure that grant expenditures are reasonable, allocable, and allowable according to agency guidelines.
Provide guidance for internal and external parties, as necessary.
Create G/L coding for all newly awarded grants and disseminate action memos to all relevant parties.
Monthly reconciliation of grant awards.
Maintain calendar of grant deliverables for all sponsored awards. Sr Director of Grants 7/23/2024
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree required, however, will consider on the job experience.
A finance and/or accounting background is desirable, as there's a good portion of account reconciliation and journaling required in this role.
Budgetary management.
Prior grant management experience with a non-profit, government agency or other entity.
Have a solid understanding of Uniform Guidance.
Must have a keen eye for detail, be highly organized, all while having the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Has the dexterity to switch directions as the workload mandates.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed. Technical skills are a must!
Must be able to work independently with limited supervision, and as a team collaborator when needed.
Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word, Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics, and Grants Navigator is desirable.
