The Director of Development (DoD) will serve as the organization’s lead fundraiser and a senior member of the leadership team, working in close partnership with the Executive Director to drive ambitious growth. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead development strategy, expand and steward a diverse portfolio of funders, and engage key stakeholders in advancing the mission. With a clear charge to increase revenue from \$1.8M in FY26 to \$2.6M in FY29, the DoD will design and execute fundraising strategies, strengthen donor and corporate partnerships, expand multi-year funding, activate the board’s fundraising capacity, and oversee signature campaigns and events. They will guide the creation of donor communications, ensure fundraising reflects the voices and experiences of the community, and collaborate with Minds Matter National on joint initiatives.
As a senior leader, the DoD will also contribute to organizational strategy and culture, manage a growing development team, and oversee departmental operations, including budgets, donor systems, and reporting. They will serve as a thought partner to the Executive Director, build strong staff and board relationships, and model a deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The ideal candidate is a seasoned fundraising leader with at least eight years of experience, skilled in cultivating individual and institutional supporters, managing high-performing teams, and communicating compellingly with diverse audiences. This is a dynamic role for someone who thrives on translating vision into measurable results and who is eager to help shape the next phase of growth for a mission-driven organization.
