Job Summary

The Human Resources Associate will work closely with the Vice President of Culture, Talent & Equity to facilitate and implement internal and member-facing talent strategies and programming. The Human Resources Associate will leverage HR expertise, a customer service ethos and project management skills to manage complex interpersonal relationships with confidentiality and implement best in class HR policies and programming that foster a culture of learning and equity for staff and members.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary point of contact for staff on payroll and benefits
  • Ensures accuracy and consistency in onboarding, offboarding, and employee files
  • Supports the VP of Culture, Talent, & Equity in developing human resource and talent development programming and consultations for Council on Foundations’ members and other philanthropy serving organizations
  • Manage the timely research and flow of content, information, and materials to and from members related to talent and HR related requests for information (RFIs) and Philanthropy Exchange posts
  • Assists the VP of Culture, Talent, & Equity in preparing talent and HR related materials for internal and external communications and remarks, including comparative and archival research. Takes initiative in drafting communications and other meeting materials
  • Continually improves recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes; co-leads these functions for the summer intern program with the Equity & Inclusion Associate
  • Over time, this role will implement and monitor in-person and virtual onboarding programs by leveraging the Council’s HRIS and learning management system
  • Co-manage events tending to the morale and wellness of staff members and the broader community
  • Acts as an organizational culture ambassador, modeling daily alignment with the Council’s values, policies, and strategic direction
  • Participates as needed in new departmental projects; Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Two years of human resources, recruitment, or talent development experience preferred; equivalent educational or work experience acceptable.
  • SHRM or HRI certification preferred, but not required. Additional years of HR work experience acceptable
  • Excellent attention to details and conscientious in adhering to deadlines and deliverables
  • Ability to “manage-up” and across as needed to meet deadlines and execute deliverables
  • Highly discrete and able to be trusted with confidential information relating to the organization and its staff
  • Personable, productive, organized and customer-focused with a “can-do” attitude
  • High emotional intelligence and change management skills
  • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and social media
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary range of $50,000-$60,000
