Grantmakers and program officers take on many different kinds of roles in their work. Some are an essential part of every day (Moving grants through the administrative process), or absolutely crucial on occasion (Saving a grant that has gone astray). Some are important but don't take priority (Scouting for new opportunities). But often our skills, experience and training do not prepare us to play every role effectively. And, honestly, sometimes we don't enjoy the roles we must play (Saying "no" to a nonprofit).
What roles am I good at? What roles are essential for me but I need to get better? And what roles do I dislike playing but still need it?
Join us for lunch and a conversation around what helps us be most effective in all the roles we play in our grantmaking. The presentation will be facilitated by Tom Kelly, Vice President for Knowledge, Evaluation and Learning at the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation.
Cost: EPIP members-no charge, Non EPIP members-$15. Lunch wil be provided by EPIP.
Parking- Parking at municipal lots close by.
