Associate

Third Plateau is a multi-disciplinary social impact strategy firm with an aim to create a world with abundant and equitable opportunity for all. We partner with people and organizations with game-changing ideas to improve the world, and we help them maximize their impact.

This position is open for any location in the continental U.S., with access to office space available in the Bay Area or Sacramento, California.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Third Plateau, a growing multi-disciplinary social impact strategy firm, is looking for a thoughtful, curious, self-directed professional to serve as an Associate on our democracy team. Third Plateau’s democracy team helps convene, connect, and advise funders, organizational leaders, scholars, opinion influencers, and other key stakeholders working to improve American democracy.

Under the guidance of one of Third Plateau’s Senior Directors, the Associate will be responsible for project and program management, research and writing, and communications and content creation for short- and long-term projects focused on protecting and sustaining democratic norms, values, and institutions in the United States. The Associate will support short-term client projects in our democracy portfolio, as well as two ongoing projects: 1) a cross-ideological learning and action community for funders concerned about the health of American democracy, and 2) a cross-ideological network and convening space through which civic leaders and influencers debate, envision, and realize a brighter future for American democracy. While this position is entirely dedicated to projects on the democracy team, the Associate will be an employee of Third Plateau and will work closely on discrete projects with members of our Strategy, Philanthropic Management, and Research,

Evaluation, and Learning teams. Top candidates will be effective project managers, curious learners, and intentional communicators (both verbally and in writing), as well as able to be open-minded and nonjudgmental while working with people across a variety of identities and political ideologies in service of the greater democratic good.
