ABOUT THE POSITION

Democracy Fund champions leaders and organizations that defend democracy and challenge our political system to be more open and just. We believe that experimentation, learning, and adaptation are key to the health and resilience of any system, whether it is our organization or the American political system. As grantmakers, we focus on listening and being of service to our grantees, who are visionaries and our collaborators, and on ways we can more deeply embed diversity, equity, and inclusion as values central to the success of our work and mission.

Voting is the single most significant way Americans exercise our political power. The Elections & Voting Program works to ensure that all Americans, especially those who have been historically underrepresented at the polls, have the opportunity to fully participate in the democratic process and freely vote for the candidates and issues representing their communities.

The Senior Associate will lead the Elections & Voting Program’s work on how to reduce or stop the current attacks on our election system and its legitimacy. We need an innovative thinker who can stay abreast of evolving threats to our election system and solutions that foster a more resilient election system and more equitable election administration practices.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Elections & Voting, the Senior Associate will lead a portfolio of grants and consultants working to build and strengthen a reliable, impartial election administration system. The successful candidate will be a systems thinker and builder who can drive impact while cultivating the internal organization needed to achieve our goals.

We are looking for candidates who can bring a range of experiences and expertise to bear on the challenges our democracy and election administration system face. Candidates must be comfortable working with a small, highly collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. The Senior Associate will work with others on the Elections & Voting team and across Democracy Fund to execute a long-term strategy, develop and manage internal processes, and support team learning and growth.

COMPENSATION

Salary range begins at $101,740.50 per year.
