Philanthropy Coordinator

The Philanthropy Coordinator will be an important member of our growing Philanthropy Pillar. At foundry10, everything we do has a philanthropic focus, whether we are giving time, materials or financial resources. The Philanthropy Coordinator will work closely with the Community and Philanthropic Relationships Manager to implement and maintain the systems and processes necessary to execute the strategic vision for our Philanthropy. This role will assist in the creation and the maintenance of philanthropy tools and resources that support philanthropic work held by other internal teams by providing administrative and tactical support. They will also be supporting the Community and Philanthropic Relationships Manager’s work in creating and executing evaluation of partnerships across the organization

We offer competitive salaries, benefits, and vacation time. Full time employment at foundry10 is a four day work week, including Fridays off. This is not a remote position. Candidates must live in Washington State and be able to work up to 2-4 days each week in foundry10’s Seattle office, which is located in the University District. This is a full-time non-exempt position with an annual salary range of $70,000-80,000 reporting to the Community and Philanthropic Relationships Manager

 

Responsibilities

Administrative Support

  • In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, this role will be part of a team executing the following structural support tasks for the Philanthropy Pillar:
    • Support internal teams in effective philanthropic giving by providing guidance in philanthropy request preparation and performing first review of proposed philanthropic projects
    • Support successful implementation of projects by coordinating with Philanthropy Team to track progress on key steps related to project goals and ensure completion of related tasks
    • Schedule trainings, workshops and relevant Philanthropy Pillar events
    • Collaborate on the development of meeting agendas, presentations and reports for the Philanthropy Team
    • Provide payment logistics support to both the Finance Team and other internal teams during philanthropic payment process
    • Work with Finance Team to ensure Philanthropy Team’s budget is reconciled monthly
    • Ensure Philanthropy Team is tracking all projects, goals and budget effectively using our project management tool
    • Be accountable for the ongoing maintenance of our internal partner management systems. This will involve educating peers and monitoring cross-team processes required to keep our partner systems accurate

Strategic initiatives and partnership management

  • Assist and support the Community and Philanthropic Relationships Manager's work to translate our philanthropic vision into excellent philanthropic projects that provide direct value to youth
  • Support Community and Philanthropic Relationships Manager in leading ongoing partner relationships including – meeting with external partners, attending site visits, completing philanthropic gives, and gathering feedback

Evaluation and internal collaboration

  • Evaluate philanthropic work and partnerships across a range of organizational metrics including: internal reflections, tracked data, budgets, external feedback and data management tools
  • Collaborate with Community and Philanthropic Relationships Manager on implementing cross-org  initiatives within Philanthropy Team
  • Support the Community and Philanthropic Relationship Manager in the coordination of cross org work with the org pillars (Sharing, Research and Programs) 
  • Assist internal working groups on philanthropy team, like our Scholarships subteam, to ensure consistency in our approach and evaluation of larger philanthropic initiatives

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 4+ years experience in philanthropy, education, non-profit, or related field including experience collaborating on an external partnership
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data to inform strategic decision making
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience using Google Suite and other online communication tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom)
  • Preferred experience with goal setting frameworks such as OKRs, KPIs or another

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • This role is the second full-time member of our Philanthropy Pillar, and we are looking for someone who is a strong team player, is eager to grow and put into action philanthropy skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen, collaborate and work with a wide range of internal and external partners
  • Successful track record of building and sustaining partnerships and relationships with schools, educators, organizations, and communities.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal direction
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects and keep them on track
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information with the highest professional and ethical standards
  • Familiarity with process / project management tools and resources (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, Trello)

Step 2: Zoom interview with the Community and Philanthropic Relationships Manager as well as a few members of the philanthropy team (1.5 to 2 hours with a short break in between). 

Step 3: Zoom meeting with the Community and Philanthropic Relationships Manager, if needed (30 mins)
