Associate Director of Major and Planned Gifts

Founded in 1889, Marlborough School is an independent girls college-preparatory school for grades 7 through 12 located in Los Angeles, California. Marlborough is the oldest independent girls’ school in the Southern California region. Central to Marlborough’s vision that Equity Leads Education is the belief in and passion for empowering young women to use their immense talents to better the world and become trailblazers in their own right. Bolstered by world-class faculty and staff, Marlborough students are challenged and inspired to work towards their own personal best and, in doing so, have an almost endless array of courses, extracurriculars, electives, and programs to spark their curiosity, deepen their compassion for one another, and lead lives of purpose.

Marlborough School seeks an innovative, engaged, driven, highly organized frontline fundraiser with an entrepreneurial mindset to serve as a pivotal member of the Advancement Office. This full-time exempt position reports directly to the Director of Advancement. The Associate Director of Major and Planned Gifts is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors at the $25,000+ level, including closing six and seven figure major and planned gifts, preferably within the independent school and/or higher education setting. The position is also responsible for managing fundraising programs, developing strategies that generate higher levels of fundraising support, and implementing multi-year fundraising plans that increase major, principal, and planned gifts across all constituent groups of the School (alumnae, parents/families, trustees, friends, etc.). The position also establishes, maintains, and strengthens long-term relationships with major and planned gift donors, and converts prospects into gifts while working collaboratively with various colleagues and School leaders. The Associate Director works closely with the Director of Advancement, Head of School, Board of Trustees, and fundraising volunteer committee members.
