Foundation Relations Senior Analyst

The Office of Foundation Relations is a resource unit in central Advancement that generates and stewards philanthropic support from private foundations for Ohio State. Our team supports all academic units, regional campuses and the medical center. Foundation Relations officers focus on cultivating and managing relationships with private foundations and aligning innovative research, education, and strategic initiatives to foundations’ giving priorities.

 

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Foundation Relations Senior Analyst will support all pre- and post-award operations and administrative activities for private foundation grants and gifts applied for by, and awarded to, The Ohio State University and The Ohio State University Foundation. This includes securing internal reviews and approvals, serving as the primary liaison with key internal partners such as the Office of Legal Affairs, Office of Sponsored Programs, unit-based partners, and Advancement Gift Processing.  In addition, the role will liaise with private foundations as needed to negotiate grant/gift agreements, request no-cost extensions, submit timely technical/stewardship reports, etc. 

 

The Foundation Relations Senior Analyst is an experienced, highly organized, and self-motivated professional with strong verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The position requires exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to be flexible and creatively problem-solve when confronted with challenging circumstances. This position uses substantial judgment and independent decision-making to provide operational and administrative support as a key member of the Foundation Relations team.

 

Reporting to the Executive Director of Foundation Relations, the Foundation Relations Senior Analyst possesses a high level of personal accountability, relationship-building, project management experience, and willingness to take ownership over their work. The successful candidate will be data savvy, detail oriented and will possess a strong business acumen and the ability to successfully interface with faculty, staff, and leadership from a variety of units and offices across the University, inclusive of Ohio State’s medical enterprise and regional campuses.
