ABOUT THE POSITION
The Program Manager is a full time position who provides support to the Community Ownership for Community Power Fund (COCP), a pooled fund co-managed by Common Counsel Foundation and Possibility Labs. The primary function of the Program Manager is to manage and coordinate a set of activities supporting the design and implementation of COCP. The position reports to the Program Strategist of the Community Ownership for Community Power Fund.
Program summary: The Community Ownership for Community Power Fund is a philanthropic initiative created in 2022 to build the capacity of communities of color, historically low-income communities, and immigrant communities across California to effectively use community ownership models to build local power, community wealth, and the capacity for self-determination. The Fund does this by providing grantmaking support to community ownership organizations to build their internal capacity to undertake and manage larger scale projects, and also by facilitating a codesign process to create an integrated capital fund to support acquisitions of land and property. The Common Counsel Foundation serves as the lead on programmatic work for COCP, bringing its experience as an organization with more than thirty-five years of progressive philanthropy, funding grassroots social movements and centering the leadership of communities.
