PT Development Manager

Job Summary: EELC is seeking a part-time Development Manager who will be responsible for
implementing, adapting and ideating strategies to expand EELC’s advancement program. This
person will work closely with the Executive Director and Board to identify, cultivate, solicit and
steward donations with an emphasis on growing the cadre of individual donors and support
foundation grant writing. The successful candidate will be a seasoned, motivated self-starter.
Ideally, this person will have a keen interest in environmental issues and familiarity with New
Jersey and the Tri-state area, as well as the philanthropic community. This position is hybrid
with in-person presence mutually agreed as needed. Anticipated time requirements are 15-20
hours per week with occasional evenings for events and meetings.

Key Responsibilities:
Implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to sustain and increase contributions to
EELC.
Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward current and new individual donors, particularly
individuals and family foundations.
Research and identify potential institutional funders (foundations, aligned businesses,
financial institutions and law firms.)
Activate board members’ engagement in fundraising efforts.
Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress and outcomes as needed for the Board.
Develop donor-focused fundraising materials and annual appeal campaigns.
Support efforts to ensure a diverse, equitable and inclusive work culture
Qualifications:
Passion for EELC’s mission and values
Knowledge of the environmental community and funders, especially at the local and
regional levels
Proven track record of successful fundraising and donor management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Expertise with CRMs
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional or lived experience
