Program Officer

The program officer will work in collaboration with the full OFL team to identify and broker innovative funding partnerships and strategic collaborations between the executive branch of state government and philanthropy to improve outcomes for Michigan residents, especially those who are most vulnerable and marginalized. The work of our office is to promote mutual understanding and collaboration between state government and foundations and identify strategic opportunities for partnering. We serve as a trusted source of data, information, and dialogue about programs, policy impacts, and policy and implementation options.

The program officer will provide significant input and support in the design, development, and implementation of OFL programs to advance its mission and goals, with an emphasis on education policy, birth to post-secondary success. The program officer will report to the foundation liaison and work to identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with key government departmental staff and philanthropic program staff by developing a regular cadence for funder engagement strategies between philanthropic leaders and the governor’s administration.
