The Grants Manager is a full-time exempt position whose main responsibility is to lead the full grantmaking lifecycle and support grantee capacity-building needs. This position will manage both c3 and c4 grantmaking docket schedules, ensuring timeliness, data integrity, and compliance. They will lead the development and implementation of the organizations’ grants database (GivingData) for effective and streamlined grantmaking and support the capacity building needs of our grantee cohort. This role also plays a key part in analyzing trends in grantmaking, ensuring equitable practices, and supporting a positive experience for grantee partners. The position will work closely with the Finance department and report to the Co-Executive Director.
Grants Management Oversight: You will lead on oversight and tracking for all grant programs, ensuring that grant requirements and deadlines are satisfied. You will track the sequence of grant cycles for four grant programs from the invitation stage to reporting. You will create summaries of grantee activities based on their grant proposals. You will coordinate with the finance department ensuring timely payment of approved grants. You will ensure grantee data is well maintained in GivingData and that grantees are able to successfully use the GivingData portal to submit applications and reports. You will have an eye for process improvements, making recommendations and implementing changes to procedures and policies to reduce burdens on grantees and to ensure transparency in proposal review and reporting requirements.
Grants Compliance and Due Diligence: You will incorporate working knowledge of c3 and c4 advocacy to assess a grantee partner’s program alignment with organizations’ core strategies. You will steward RFPs and report requests in GivingData. You will spot check for grantee compliance needs with support from the legal and finance team to address compliance flags. You will conduct due diligence to ensure grant requirements are correctly documented and followed by grant applicants.
Grantee Support: You will be a primary ambassador for the organization and act as a liaison with grantee partners. You will bring an evaluative approach to grantee interactions (both from conversations and quantitative data) to support process improvements that better support grantee success, both in receiving timely funding and carrying out awarded programs. You will track technical assistance to grantees, support evaluation of technical assistance needs and usage for continuous improvement. You will be responsive to grantee partners, coordinate, communicate with, and track grantee participation in program events, convenings, and relevant meetings for reporting and evaluation purposes.
Grantmaking System: You will have a well-developed knowledge of a grantmaking system platform such that you could train others to optimize their use of the platform. You will partner with the GivingData Client Success Manager to ensure system functionality supports current and evolving grants management needs. You will perform quality control of grants data in GivingData to provide accurate and timely reports as requested for internal and external stakeholders.
