Texas Water Foundation (TWF) is a statewide, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to lead Texas into a secure water future. Established in 1998, its original objective was to raise public awareness among all Texans regarding the vital role water plays in our daily lives. THE ROLE OF THE DEVELOPMENT & COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE
The Opportunity: The Development and Communications Associate provides vital support in a collaborative environment toward ensuring Texas prioritizes water security. While primarily an administrative support role, this position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with senior leadership across programmatic and operational goals.

Primary Responsibilities
Development support 40%
Donor database management: record and process gifts, pledges, and payments; generate and prepare reports and mail/email lists for campaigns and strategy; assist with prospect research and donor giving analysis for new individual giving program and endowment campaign.
Donor recognition and stewardship: assist in the development and execution of donor stewardship plan; generate tax acknowledgments; support the development of annual reports; facilitate quarterly donor outreach.
Future endowment campaign: support strategy and campaign-specific proposals in collaboration with leadership and campaign contractor.
Events: support logistics and administrative duties for fundraising events.
Communications support 40%
Overall communications strategy support: assist with the execution of TWF’s communications strategy, including public-facing materials such as website, social media content, blog posts, marketing emails, and other communications collateral.
Website maintenance and updates: post and update communications and fundraising content.
Social media: assist with creative strategy; post to various social media channels with correct sizing and tagging best practices; monitor engagement.
Fundraising communications: assist with website updates and fundraising-specific communications collateral within the context of the greater communications plan.
Organization Administrative support 20%
Administrative support for TWF team as needed, including general office tasks, board meetings, event support, operational support, calendar support, etc.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
Strong commitment to a collaborative, team-oriented organizational culture
Detail-oriented, highly organized, enthusiastic, and hard-working
Ability to prioritize and maintain focus on wide range of responsibilities
Commitment to the mission and vision of Texas Water Foundation
Commitment to professional execution of programs and integrity
Entrepreneurial spirit and growth mindset
Familiarity with Google Suite, Squarespace, and design software is a plus
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Compensation & Benefits
The starting salary for this position is $60,000 annually. Texas Water Foundation is proud to offer opportunities for growth as well as a generous benefits package including health insurance, retirement contribution, and paid time off including maternity/paternity leave. TWF is currently working in a hybrid office environment.
