EPIP-NY: Leading Authentically as a Woman in Philanthropy

Over 40 women (and one man) gathered at the Wallace Foundation bright and early to hear inspirational words and useful tips on how to navigate philanthropy as a woman. Liz Alsina, program associate at The Mellon Foundation, Jaclyn Le, program & research analyst at Wallace Foundation, Carolina Velasquez, Administrative Assistant at Wallace Foundation, and Kristina Whyte, Senior Accountant at Wallace Foundation, organized the highly attended event, the second one of its kind hosted by the EPIP New York Chapter. Learn more about the event and lessons from it here.

Crowdfunding platforms raised an estimated $5.1 billion worldwide in 2013, nearly twice the total for 2012. Although most of this booming investment is in private ventures, mission-driven crowdfunding platforms are also emerging on the leading edge of technology, philanthropy, and social entrepreneurship.

NYF is seeking a young person interested in learning about its grant-making approach and practice. The intern will participate in the grant review process at all levels for a period of ten weeks from June through August 2012.
