Centering Racial Equity in Grantmaking
If 2020 showed us anything, it’s that regardless of the type of grantmaking we practice, no matter the type of organization we are in, racial equity impacts every aspect of our work. Yet, too often we lack the strong tools and analysis to bring these principles into action through our grantmaking. Join EPIP and ABFE for a workshop to discuss how we, as emerging and established leaders in philanthropy, can understand, commit to, and practice an intentional racial equity approach.
Presented by ABFE: A Philanthropic Partnership for Black Communities, the workshop will present shared definitions and assumptions around race, racism, anti-blackness and racial equity, an introduction to ABFE’s Responsive Philanthropy in Black Communities (RPBC) framework, share tools that can be used to support racial equity grantmaking, and provide resources to support applying a racial equity lens to your work.
