Storme Gray is the Interim Executive Director of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy. Previously, she was EPIP's Director of Programs and led EPIP's professional and leadership development portfolio. An active EPIP member for a number of years, Storme served as Chapter Leader of EPIP-DC before joining EPIP’s national Board of Advisors in 2016. She often credits her membership in EPIP as being one of the most transformational experiences of her career to date, and brings that experience to her role.
In addition to her time with EPIP, Storme brings a wealth of knowledge of philanthropy and of social justice gained from over ten years of philanthropic and nonprofit experience. She’s worked for family foundations, operating foundations, and national infrastructure organizations such as the Council on Foundations. At the Council on Foundations, Storme created leadership development programming for philanthropic professionals spanning topics including policy and advocacy, social justice, and community engagement.
Before joining EPIP's staff, Storme served as a Program Officer at the Washington Area Women’s Foundation, where she developed programs serving young women and girls of color. Chief among these were the foundation’s Young Women’s Initiative, a city-wide effort to improve the educational, economic, and life outcomes for cis and trans young women and girls of color; and the Young Women’s Advisory Council fellowship program, which provides local young women the opportunity work within the Young Women’s Initiative, co-creating solutions while developing their leadership and advocacy skills.
In her spare time, Storme serves on the board of Women of the Dream, a non-profit organization in Camden, NJ that educates and empowers socially and economically disadvantaged girls through mentoring, workshops, and career development programs. Storme is also a graduate of American University, a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, and fur-mommy to two sweet dogs Indigo and Bodhi.
