What is the purpose of EPIP's 2016 Conference Scholarship Fund?

EPIP works to create leadership development opportunities for our members. Our conference affords our members access to people and resources that are often only available to more senior staff in their organizations.

While we endeavor to keep our conference as affordable as possible, we recognize that cost remains a barrier for some. This fund is intended to help make the conference accessible for those who might otherwise struggle to attend.

Who will be eligible for a scholarship?

Scholarships will be awarded by lottery to current EPIP members who have not yet registered, or who have registered but are paying their own way. Some scholarships may be awarded to non-EPIP members based in Baltimore. Scholarships are not available to individuals who have had their registration costs covered by employers.

When will winners be drawn?

Scholarship awardees will be selected on Monday, August 15th.

What do awardees get?

Scholarship awardees receive a free registration for the conference, two complimentary nights at the conference hotel (during which they may be asked to share a room with another awardee), and a travel reimbursement of up to $300. 

Is EPIP matching donations?

EPIP is matching up to $5,000 in donations made through Friday, August 12th. Donate here.

How many awardees will there be?

Between donations and EPIP's match, we can provide one scholarship for every $500 we raise up to $5,000.

How will I know if I have won the scholarship lottery?

Everyone who enrolls in the lottery by Friday, August 12th will be notified of the status of their entry—whether you receive a scholarship or not—the week of August 15th.

What if I don't win?

We strongly encourage anyone who can do so to ask their employer to support their attendance at our conference. Our members have put together a guide to support their peers in doing this.
