Biz Ghormley brings over a decade of experience in non-profits, organizing, social justice and philanthropy to her role as Director of Operations and Member Services at EPIP. Analytical and passionate, she began her career on the front lines of justice as a bilingual investigator for the Bronx Defenders. Biz has since leveraged her skills building relationships and weaving story, strategy and data to raise millions of dollars, co-lead national member networks, design and run events and campaigns centering the power and voice of marginalized communities, and improved systems within organizations of all sizes. She grew her entrepreneurial skill-set at Digital Democracy, recognized as one of Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Companies.” Biz has worked as a consultant and team member at a range of social service, legal and arts organizations. A former Starting Bloc Fellow and member of Coro Leadership New York, Biz holds a BA from Wesleyan University and a MS from NYU. Biz is a member of the Homebase Giving Circle in Brooklyn, an advisor to the Restorative Justice Initiative and facilitates "Calling In 101" workshops with SURJ NYC. She lives in Peekskill, New York, writes stories, co-hosts radio shows and podcasts and loves to dance.
