Event Canceled: Volunteer with EPIP DC at Capital Area Food Bank

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Capital Area Food Bank with EPIP. CAFB has unfortunately cancelled our volunteer work date due to a low supply of food. You can help CAFB restock their supply by donating now.  EPIP DC will notify you when another volunteer opportunity is available.

Although this volunteer event has been cancelled, we encourage you to consider the next EPIP DC Breakfast: A Conversation on Hunger with Patty Stonesifer on August 12th at 8:30 am. More information is available here. We hope to see you there!

Join EPIP and let’s make a difference in the Greater Washington Area by volunteering at the Capital Area Food Bank!

CAFB works with a network of 500 partner agencies and volunteers to source out over 40 million pounds of food. We will help support their mission by volunteering at the DC Warehouse. This volunteer project may involve packing and/or sorting donated food. It also can include packing for CAFB programs, and assisting with other related tasks – all of which are considered light/medium labor and typically involve standing/lifting up to 35 pounds. Temperatures in the warehouse can fluctuate, so please dress for the weather and assignment. Don’t forget to wear closed-toe shoes. Once you register, your name will be added to CAFB’s system and you will receive a waiver to complete prior to the volunteer date. We look forward to seeing you there!

For those interested in meeting for group transportation by Metro, email Marlene Corrado at [email protected] before July 28th COB. The DC Warehouse is a 1.1 mile walk from the Fort Totten Metro station (Red line).
