The Professional Development Fund Gathering is a yearly convening of young promising leaders of color in the philanthropic sector designed to broaden the leadership pipeline for people of color in the
sector by providing professional and personal development workshops and resources.
Leaders representing private and public foundations, institutional support groups and philanthropic professionals engage in peer-to-peer sharing and interactive sessions to explore the role of people
of color in philanthropy. Each year, attendees acquire concrete hard and soft skills through peer-lead sessions that can be applied in the day to day work at their own foundations and philanthropic institutions.
Gathering attendees also engage in thought-provoking sessions on social justice grantmaking and racial equity work
that can promote common language and a critical analysis of the role philanthropy can play in supporting social change work.
Featured speakers include:
Lisa Duran, Executive Director, Rights for All People
Ana Oliveira, President and CEO, New York Women's Foundation
David Portillo, Program Officer, Denver Foundation
Morris W. Price Jr., National Program Officer, Gill Foundation
